Tipperary hurler Declan Ryan has announced his retirement following an illustrious career which saw him win All-Ireland Senior Championship medals in three separate decades. The former All Star was a member of Tipp’s All-Ireland winning teams in 1989, 1991 and 2001.
Ryan will continue to line out for his club, Clonoulty-Rossmore, but he will be a big loss for county manager Nicky English as Tipperary set out to retain their All-Ireland and League titles.
