The former Offaly inter-county hurling star Michael Duignan is to take over as manager of the Meath senior hurling team tonight. Meath's County Board will meet in Trim to ratify Duignan's appointment and afterwards, Duignan will then meet the players and the board delegates.
Duignan was an outstanding hurler in his day, winning two All-Ireland senior medals and five Leinster championships with his county. The former All-Star will take over his new position from John Davis and will have as his back-room team former Leinster players Pat Potterton and Paddy Kelly, while Johnny Murray will come on board as trainer.
