Galway name unchanged team

Galway have named an unchanged team from the side that started against Kilkenny for Sunday's Guinness All-Ireland hurling final against Tipperary at Croke Park. Although there was speculation all week that the Galway management would make some changes to their side, manager Noel Lane has opted to keep faith with the same 15 that started the semi-final.

Galway produced a devastating display against the All-Ireland champions that day with Eugene Cloonan scoring 2-9. Brian Higgins, who made a huge impact when introduced as a sub in the semi-final, is again on the bench while Gregory Kennedy, who was sent off for a second bookable offence, retains his place at right corner back.

Galway: M Crimmins; G Kennedy, M Healy, O Canning; D Hardiman, L Hodgins, C Moore; D Tierney, R Murray; A Kerins, M Kerins, K Broderick; J Rabbitte, E Cloonan, F Healy.
