Revised GAA calendar announced

The Games Administration Committee (GAC) has released details of its revised fixture calendar following the adverse effects of the foot and mouth crisis.

The All-Ireland Club hurling semi-final replay between Graigue Ballycallan and Sixmilebridge will take place on March 31st with both club finals to be played on April 16th. The Allianz NHL resumes on April 1st with the postponed NFL meeting between Kerry and Dublin re-fixed for the same day.

The GAC will ask Central Council to allow extra time to be played in the remaining club matches, as well as in the National League play-offs and All-Ireland under-21 football championships in order to prevent any replays further complicating the schedules.

The GAC hope to finalise arrangements for the Leagues and the Under 21 Championships following a meeting with the Provincial Secretaries next weekend and they will be addressing the issue of arrangements for the Sigerson and Fitzgibbon Cups, the Colleges and Vocations Schools Finals.

All rescheduled fixtures are dependent on the country remaining free from the foot and mouth crisis.
