Ireland are set to take on the Netherlands once more following today's World Cup draw, with Germany and Chile also completing Pool A.

The sides have met regularly over the last few years, with Ireland suffering defeats in the last World Cup final, as well as last summer's Olympic Games in Japan.

The world number one Dutch side are also the joint-hosts of this year's tournament, alongside Spain.

The Green Army had a memorable run to the final back in 2018, recording their best ever result at a World Cup.

After the disappointment of failing to emerge from their pool in Tokyo in 2020, the squad regrouped and confirmed their place at this year's World Cup by winning the qualifier event in Pisa last October.

The action is due to get underway on 1 July with Amstelveen the host venue for Ireland's group.

"We’re so excited after watching the draw for the World Cup this summer," said captain Katie Mullan.

"It will be fantastic to play the Netherlands in their home stadium and to face Germany, who we played last year in Tokyo. We know Chile are an up-and-coming team and will be very well prepared this summer so that will be another brilliant game to look forward to. We are super-excited, see you in July."
