Ireland 4-2 China

Ireland outgunned China in an entertaining Test at the National Hockey Stadium in UCD as they ramped up preparations for their two-legged Olympic qualifier against Canada in November.

This was Ireland's last match on home soil before that huge showdown and they looked sharp.

Xiayun Xi broke the deadlock in the second quarter but that only served to spark the Green Army into life.

Nikki Evans levelled  before Shirley McCay and then before Zoe Wilson made it 3-1.

Jiangxin He made things interesting but Ireland ultimately had too much firepower for the visitors, with Chloe Watkins wrapping up a 4-2 victory.

RTÉ will carry live coverage of the Ireland's crunch qualifier against the Canadians at Energia Park in Donnybrook.

Sean Dancer's side will enjoy home advantage on the pop-up pitch due to their place in the world's top 10.
