Ireland 2-1 Scotland
Ireland recorded another victory over Scotland last night as their preparations for World League 2 continued in Dublin.
The Green Army dominated proceedings and earned a 2-1 win.
Ireland’s first goal came just at the half-time when Deidre Duke roofed in a deflection off Megan Frazer’s penalty corner drag.
Ireland should have given themselves a bigger lead but a solid looking Scottish defence coped well with the onslaught of attacks.
The Scots equalised against the run of play thanks to a Nikki Kidd drag flick.
Ireland responded immediately and Aine Connery converted off a pass from Anna O’Flanagan to go in front again.
The home side continued with wave after wave of attack, showing great pace and intensity, but the final shot continued to evade them and the match closed out with a 2-1 scoreline.
Ireland will play their third and final test against Scotland in this series on Wednesday at 12.15pm in Alexandra College.
