Eugene Magee and Emma Clarke were awarded the Players’ Player of the Year Awards at the 2009 ESB Irish Hockey Awards on Saturday night.
Clarke is the Ireland Women’s team centre midfielder while Magee plays up front for the men. Both were selected by their fellow internationals.
Other awards went to Neil Lyons on Three Rock Rovers and Jean McDonnell (Railway), who won the men’s and women’s ESB Senior Club Player of the Year awards. Kyle Good (Three Rock Rovers) and Niamh Atcheler (Leinster and Hermes) were named ESB Under-18 Players of the Year.
Ulster's Cookstown was awarded Club of the Year title for the first time ever while Munster's Cork C of I were announced as the 2009 Youth Club of the Year.
