Ireland's women's hockey team has been beaten 3-1 by China in their third game at the Tri-Nations Tournament in New Zealand.

The Irish had trailed 2-0 at half-time after conceding two goals in the opening seven minutes.

UCC's Julia O'Halloran scored Ireland's only goal early in the second half.

China, who are ranked 5th in the world, scored their third goal with four minutes to play.
