Irish keep World Cup hopes alive

Ireland kept alive their World Cup hopes on track with a 0-0 draw against New Zealand at the women's qualifying tournament in Rome.

The point was enough to lift them into fourth place in Pool B and with matches against the two sides below them, Italy and Azerbaijan, they have every chance of securing a top-four place in their group.

That would be good enough to put them into the classification matches for the one remaining place for Madrid in September - with the four others spots going to the semi-finalists.

Hosts Italy are next up tomorrow.
