Ireland vice-captain Jenny Burke has announced her retirement from international hockey.
The penalty corner expert had stated the European Nations Championship in Dublin in September would be her last tournament, but there was hope in the Irish camp she would reconsider.
"I've travelled the world representing my country playing a sport I love but now it's time to hang up the boots and concentrate on my career and personal life," said the 31-year-old Hermes forward, who made 161 appearances to make her the second-highest capped Irish woman.
