The Irish women's hockey team have retained the Celtic Cup after victory over hosts Scotland in Edinburgh this afternoon.

Riet Kuper's side claimed their third successive win this week as a goal from Kristin Farrell saw them beat the host nation 1-0.

Earlier victories over Wales, 1-0, and France, 3-1, saw Ireland retain the trophy despite the absence of key players Jenny Burke, Lynsey McVicker, Angela Platt and Eimear Cregan.
