Sticks and tricks contest for young hockey players

Young hockey players who fancy themselves as having nifty skills will have a chance to show off this weekend in the IHA's sticks and tricks competition. Players under the age of 14 can display their best moves for one minute while being filmed, and the most impressive performers will have a chance to represent Ireland on a special hockey camp which takes place next year. The competition will take place during the intervals in club championship matches at Belfield. Anyone interested can sign up from 12.30pm at the Year of the Youth poster on the stand on Saturday or Sunday. This weekend will see a global hockey marathon with over 50 countries taking part, instigated by the International Hockey Federation.
