The PGA Tour is considering pathways to accommodate LIV Golf players who decide to return to its circuit, according to chief executive Brian Rolapp.

Speculation has mounted that the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) is set to end its backing of the breakaway competition, which is reported to be approaching $4.2 billion since the series was launched in 2021.

LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil insists funding remains for the current season, with a business plan in the works to "keep us going".

Speaking to The Pat McAfee Show podcast, Rolapp was asked whether the PGA Tour had any "defined pathways" for other players who wanted to be reinstated, following the high-profile return to the fold of Brooks Koepka and with Patrick Reed also looking to regain his full membership later this year.

"We are thinking about it. We are reading all the same headlines you are reading. We don’t know what is going on over there," Rolapp said.

"We know those guys are under contract and we will respect that. Brooks (Koepka) came back onto the Tour because he made a phone call and said: 'I’m out of my contract and I’m ready to come back’, so, we are thinking about it."

Elsewhere the Genesis Scottish Open will continue to be played at The Renaissance Club in East Lothian through to 2030, the DP Tour has announced.

The event, which is also part of the PA Tour schedule, has been held there since 2019, with this year's tournament running from July 9 to 12 ahead of The Open at Royal Birkdale.

There has been a layout change for the 2026 tournament, which includes the par-three sixth hole 'The Thistle’ now becoming the 15th.

"The Renaissance Club has been a fantastic host venue for the Genesis Scottish Open over the past eight years and we are delighted to be able to call it our home through to 2030," said Scottish Open championship director Rory Colville.

"The venue has grown and developed with the event in that time and John and Jerry Sarvadi and their team have really been committed to providing a world-class experience for everyone on site – with the latest changes to the championship course routing just the latest part of that evolution."
