Scotland's Robert MacIntyre carded a round of 64 on Friday to take a four-shot lead at the Texas Open, with Séamus Power just missing the cut in San Antonio.

After a opening round of 71, Power's 73 saw him finish on level par, two shots the wrong side of the projected cut as play was suspended late on because of darkness.

The Waterford golfer's caused was not helped with a double-bogey six on the first and a dropped shot followed on four. He got one back on eight before another bogey on 11. Birdies on 13 and 16 were not enough to see him involved for the final two rounds.

MacIntyre built on his opening-round 66 with an eagle and seven birdies, a bogey on the par-four 17th the sole blemish on the day.

His score of eight under lifts him to 14 under headed into the weekend, four shots ahead of Sweden's Ludvig Aberg.

Four golfers are a shot further back, with England's John Parry also in the hunt on eight under.

Meanwhile, fellow Brit Tommy Fleetwood slipped five spots on the leaderboard to equal-13th after finishing two-under-par.
