Shane Lowry's bogey-free second round helped him to make the weekend in Houston

Shane Lowry found form to make the weekend at the Houston Open in Texas, but Séamus Power missed out by two shots in Texas.

Power had bettered Lowry's opening round score by one shot, but the Waterford man bogeyed two of the last five holes to finish on level par after a 72.

He had earlier bogeyed the seventh with a birdie on the 17th, giving him hope before his third dropped shot of the day on the last.

There was better news for Lowry, who got around in 67 to move to four under. He did his scoring in six holes on the way out, picking up three birdies between the third and the eighth holes.

Gary Woodland pulled clear of the field on 13 under, His round of 63 left him three strokes clear of duo Jackson Suber, of the United States, and Denmark's Nicolai Hoejgaard, whose 62 is the low round of the tournament so far.

"This as much as any week, I feel like I've had a lot of support," Woodland said. "Kind of feel like I'm playing at home. The fans have been amazing. I kind of need that energy to help me through the day, that definitely helps. That's something hopefully I can ride on this weekend as well."

The cut line fell at two under, leaving Power and notable names like Will Zalatoris, Billy Horschel, Rickie Fowler, Wyndham Clark and Lucas Glover to miss the weekend.

Brooks Koepka went 75-69 to finish two rounds at four over and miss the cut for the second time in six starts since his reinstatement to the PGA Tour.
