Home favourite Hannah Green leads at the midway mark of the Australian WPGA Championship after firing a second-round four-under 67 to move two shots clear on 10-under, while fortunes were mixed for Annabel Wilson and Aine Donegan.
Green, a seven-time LPGA winner, is chasing a hat-trick of victories this week having claimed her home Open last week and the HSBC Women's World Championship three weeks ago.
She sits two shots clear of England’s Meghan MacLaren heading into the weekend at Sanctuary Cove Golf & Country Club in Queensland.
MacLaren, a three-time Ladies European Tour (LET) winner, continued her excellent record in Australia following up yesterday’s five-under 66 with a 68.
In solo third sits Germany’s Alexandra Forsterling on seven-under par. The four-time LET winner went bogey-free on Friday carding one eagle – her fifth of the Aussie swing – while also picking up three birdies for a five-under round of 66.
Co Armagh's Wilson started the day four shots off the lead but endurd a tough afternoon to slide down the leaderbard. Wilson had three bogeys and two double bogeys on her way to a five-over 76 that left her on two-over-par, just inside the cut mark.
Meanwhile Donegan shot her second 70 on the bounce to sit on two-under, the Clare woman moving very solidly as she continues to impress on the pro ranks.
Three weeks ago Donegan finished a commendable 16th at the Ford Women's NSW Open on what was her professional debut on the LET.
