Annabel Wilson made a good start Down Under

Armagh's Annabel Wilson is four shots off the lead at the Australian WPGA Championship after firing a three-under-par 68 in her opening round on the Gold Coast.

Wilson picked up five birdies, offset by a couple of bogeys - one coming on her last hole of the day - to sit among a cluster of players in a tie for 16th.

Scotland's Kelsey MacDonald leads the way on seven-under thanks to a scorching 64 that included an eagle on the 18th.

Charlotte Heath of England and Australian Hannah Green are one shot behind in second.

Clare native Aine Donegan made a solid start to get into the clubhouse on one-under.

Donegan had three bogeys and two birdies in her first six holes, but settled down to pick up shots on the 12th and 18th in a round of 70.

Three weeks ago Donegan finished a commendable 16th at the Ford Women's NSW Open on what was her professional debut on the LET.
