Leona Maguire slumped to a disappointing 76 in her final round in China as Korea's Mi Hyang Lee birdie on the 72nd secured a one-stroke victory at the Blue Bay LPGA at Hainan Island.
Maguire had been tied-11th and six shots off the lead overnight but saved her worst round until Sunday, carding a messy four-over par score despite registering an eagle on the eighth.
The two-time LPGA Tour winner undid her good work on that par-5 with a double-bogey on the 10th. She tossed in six bogeys elsewhere, with just two birdies on the fifth and 11th as she fell back to one-under for the tournament and a tie for 18th place.
Overnight leader Lee claimed her first tour victory in over eight years but it was not without tribulations, the Korean recording two double-bogeys in an outward nine of 40.
Having surrendered the lead, she pulled it back with three birdies on the way home, including at the last to finish on 11-under par overall, one stroke clear of China's Weiwei Zhang.
America's Auston Kim and India's Aditi Ashok shared third on eight-under.
In the Australian Women's Classic on the European Tour, Aine Donegan also recorded a 76 as she finished on three-over par, 16 shots adrift of comfortable winner Kelsey Bennett.
Leading by one stroke overnight, the home favourite Bennett battled to a one-under score in brutally tough conditions at Magenta Shores to win by four in the end, as her rivals faltered.
Her closest pursuers, compatriot Calen McGinty and England's Meghan MacLaren both posted rounds of 74 to fall back to nine-under.
"I'm just stoked to have managed to get it across the line today," Bennett said. "My biggest and best win so far. I couldn’t be happier, to be honest."
