Áine Donegan slips back at Ford Women's NSW Open in Oz

Aine Donegan of Ireland watches her tee shot on the first hole during day two of the 2025 KPMG Women’s Irish Open Golf Championship at Carton House Golf Club in Maynooth, Kildare.
Áine Donegan is four off the lead

Áine Donegan endured a challenging third round at the Ford Women's NSW Open in Australia, a three-over-par 74 leaving her four off the lead on eight-under heading into the final day of action.

The 23-year-old Clare woman was top of the leaderboard at the halfway point after shooting a brilliant second-round 63 at Wollongong links to move to 11-under-par.

This is Donegan's professional debut on the Ladies European Tour. She secured her card for 2026 last December after coming through Lalla Aicha Q-school in Morocco.

The harsh realities of life in the pro game were laid bare as birdies at her first and last holes were undermined by five bogeys in between. Still, it's been a really impressive showing by Donegan to date, and she still has the opportunity to make a charge on Sunday.

Australian Hannah Reeves shot a 66 to hit the front on 12-under, one clear of her compatriot Kelsey Bennett.

Dubliner Anna Foster is four-under overall in a tie for 29th after getting home with a one-under 70.
