Dublin's Rowan Lester completely changed his fortunes on Day 2 of the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open but it wasn't enough to make the cut as South Africa's Casey Jarvis opened up a two-shot lead after a second-round 65.
Jarvis, who shared the first-round lead with Scotland's Scott Jamieson, reached 12-under-par at the midway point and was two strokes clear of France’s Alexander Levy at the co-sanctioned DP Tour and Sunshine Tour event.
Spain’s Nacho Elvira was nine-under with Jarvis’ compatriot Brandon Stone a further shot back.
Defending champion John Parry was six-under, tied for eighth, after the Englishman carded 68 on Friday. Scotland’s Jamieson remained five-under after a level-par 72.
Lester had opened up with a demoralising round of 82 that left him 10-over, but he responded brilliantly to shoot a one-under 71 to finish on nine-over, nine shots outside the cut-line.
