David Puig fired a spotless final-round 66 to become the first Spanish winner of the BMW Australian PGA Championship since Seve Ballesteros in 1981.
Puig started the day in a three-way tie for the lead but gave himself an early three-shot cushion after reeling off a hat-trick of birdies at the second, third and fourth.
Further birdies on the eighth and 13th kept the chasing pack at bay and Puig parred his way home to finish the tournament on 18 under par and complete a two-shot victory, his first on the DP World Tour.
Wenyi Ding finished alone in second on 16 under after making seven birdies and two bogeys in his closing 66, with Marc Leishman and Nick Voke another shot back.
Puig said: "It feels unbelievable, especially winning here in Australia. They have awesome golf so I'm really excited and happy."
