Anna Foster carded a second successive round of 70 to lie inside the top-20 at the Open de Espana in Andalucia.
The Dubliner remains the best performing of the Irish trio after a strange round in which she weathered two double-bogeys at par-3s along with another dropped stroke at the 15th but countered that with seven birdies over the course of her round.
She is currently on four-under par at the halfway point but finds herself 11 shots adrift of the leader, Thailand's Trichat Cheenglab, who has opened up a major gap between herself and the field, with a stunning nine-under par 63 on Friday.
The Thai player is on 15-under overall, seven strokes clear of the chasing pack, led by Italy's Alessandra Fanali on eight-under.
Foster is one shot ahead of her compatriot Lauren Walsh, the Kildare golfer matching her round of 70 on Friday. Walsh eagled the par-5 fourth hole but couldn't build on that, her remaining four birdies being cancelled out by four bogeys.
Sara Byrne, the remaining Irish player in the field, is at even par after a second consecutive round of 72.
