Seamus Power fell just short in his bid to retain a full PGA Tour card for 2026, but he has earned a conditional card after finishing tied for seventh place at the RSM Classic in Georgia.
Power entered the tournament in 129th place in the FedEx Fall standings, with the top 100 securing full PGA Tour status for next year, while the top 125 gain conditional PGA Tour status, which should allow them to play around 20 tournaments.
The Waterford man's joint-seventh-placed finish saw him climb 12 places in the FedEx Cup standings to finish in a provisional 117th place.
Playing on the Seaside Course, where the two weekend rounds were staged, Power went into the final round knowing that he'd have to improve his position if he was to have any chance of breaking into the top 100.
Starting the day in a tie for eighth, he birdied the opening hole with a ten-foot putt on the par-4 first.
Playing steady golf, he added another birdie on the par-5 seventh, but dropped a shot on the eighth to make the turn in 34.
Power added further birdies on the par-4 13th and the par-3 17 to eventually sign for a round of 67 that left him -18 for the tournament, five shots behind eventual winner Sami Valimaki of Finland.
While Power may be disappointed to have missed out on a top 100 finish and a full tour card, his climb up the FedEx Fall standings has been impressive after he started the month in 145th place.
Tournament winner, Valimaki birdied the par-5 15th hole at at the Seaside Course to break a tie with Max McGreevy, who went out early and posted a 7-under 63 to get to 22-under 260.
Valimaki proceeded to par his way home and sign for a 66, a four-round score of 23-under 259.
Not only did the win secure Valimaki a two-year exemption on tour, it catapulted him 23 spots to 51th in the FedEx Cup Fall points standings. Those placed 51-60 in points qualify for the first two big-money signature events of 2026.
That was also reason to smile for McGreevy, whose Sunday surge into second place was projected to push him to 60th in the standings.
Ricky Castillo did McGreevy one better by firing a final-round 62, rocketing him to third at -21 under.
However, he was projected to finish the points race in 102nd, just outside the top 100 who are guaranteed full tour status for next season.
