Ireland's Ana Foster sits six shots behind individual competition leader Moa Folke after the first round of action at the Aramco China Championship.
Foster carded three bogeys and as many birdies for a level-par 73 on the World Cup Course at Mission Hills to finish her day in a share of 57th place.
Lauren Walsh, who is 10th on the Order of Merit, made an inauspicious start featuring three bogeys on her opening four holes.
Two further birdies and three birdies on the back nine left the 25-year-old two over and in a share of 82nd place.
At the top of the leaderboard, Sweden's Folke recorded a bogey-free 67, closing out with an eagle.
"It’s always so much fun playing well," she said afterwards.
"I hit it really well today and I have been trending in the right direction for a few tournaments now, getting closer and closer. I’m getting there."
Thailand’s Aunchisa Utama, England’s Alice Hewson and Germany’s Laura Funfstuck share second place on five under, with 11 players one shot further back.
The quartet of Funfstuck, Ecuador’s Daniela Darquea, Finland’s Ursula Wikstrom and England’s Eleanor Givens lead the team competition on 19 under.
