Nacho Elvira and Mikael Lindberg took a share of the lead heading into the final day at the Genesis Championship Woo Jeong Hills Country Club, with English pair Alex Fitzpatrick and Andy Sullivan in the chasing pack.
Lindberg acted as the third-round pace-setter, with the Swede shooting a best-in-class 67 and rolling in birdie putts from 20 and 37 feet in the back nine.
Spaniard Elvira blotted his copybook with a double-bogey six on the third hole but rallied with a streak of three birdies in four holes to stay in touch.
He needed a rescue job from the bunker on 18 to salvage a par and pulled it off with an excellent chip to tie with Lindberg on eight under.
"It was a grind to be fair, I started off a little bit shaky," Elvira said after his round of 69.
"It didn't feel like I was hitting the ball bad, just hit one a little bit short on three which cost me a double.
"But I tried to stay patient because I know it’s a tough course, the birdies are not guaranteed here so I think I did a good job with that."
Sullivan shot 70, three over after nine holes but four under on the back nine, to sit two shots back on six under alongside Fitzpatrick, Li Haotong and Yuto Katsuragawa.
Home favourite Im Sung-jae, who started Saturday’s play in an eight-way tie at the top of the leaderboard, fell off dramatically, closing five over for the round.
