Shane Lowry is one shot off the lead after the second round of the DP World India Championship.

Lowry, who was the overnight leader after a stunning opening round of 64, was unable to match the highlight of the first day, but still signed for a second round of three-under 69 which moved him to 11-under in New Delhi.

The Ryder Cup hero sits one shot behind clubhouse leader Tommy Fleetwood, who is out on his own on 12-under after shooting a bogey-free round of 64, that included eight birdies.

Brian Harman shares second place with Lowry after signing for a 65.

FULL LEADERBOARD

Lowry got off to strong start and with birdies on the third, sixth and eighth holes, making the turn in 33 – a shot better than his opening round.

However, he stalled slightly on the back nine, with just on further birdie and a bogey on the par-five 18th – a hole he birdied yesterday.

Rory McIlroy finished like a train to finish the day on six-under.

McIlroy was one-over for the day after his first 12 holes, but he birdied four of his last six to get home with a second successive 69 that leaves him six off the lead.

Conor Purcell missed the cut despite shooting a 69 on Friday, paying the price for an opening 74 that. He signed off on one-under, one off the require score to make the weekend.
