Walsh, 25, followed up Friday's 68 with a scorching six-under 66 that left her 10-under for the tournament.

Six birdies in a flawless round hoisted the Dubliner into the top three at the Ladies European Tour event, though it looks like Canadian teenager Huang will take some stopping in Spain.

Huang is still only 16 but she's been in sensationally good form at La Sella Golf Resort.

Her 69 on Saturday was her worst round so far, after opening tallies of 64 and 66, but Huang remains three clear of second-placed Nastasia Nadaud and seven ahead of Walsh.

Annabel Wilson also had an encouraging Saturday as her 69 moved her to four-under and inside the top 20. Sara Byrne, Olivia Mehaffey, Canice Screen and Anna Foster failed to make the cut.

"I'm really happy with today’s work, a bogey-free six-under, I kept it pretty simple out there," said Walsh.

"I hit fairways and greens, made up-and-down when I needed to, holed some putts. I have just simplified things and am trying to enjoy my time out here and that’s been key the past couple of weeks. That makes a big difference to your golf game, having fun out here and getting to make the most of the cool places we get to go to.

"I’m really happy with where my game is at. I have been driving it well, hitting it well and I had my coach here over the first couple of practice rounds, which was a big help. I’m feeling comfortable and confident and hopefully, another good day tomorrow."
