The Cavan native posted seven birdies amidst a bogey-free round to get in contention straight away at the Pinnacle Country Club.

Maguire opened with three pars before moving under par on the fourth hole, and she followed it up with two more birdies on the front nine, at the seventh and ninth.

And the Ireland Olympian began the back nine as she finished the front with another shot gained on the par-four 10th, adding another on the 12th hole to get to five under par.

Maguire was still not done, however, and she enjoyed back-to-back birdies on 14 and 15 to get to seven under before finishing with a trio of pars to post an impressive 64.

Among the early starters, Maguire sits one shot off the clubhouse lead of Sarah Schmelzel and Minami Katsu, who both impressed with opening eight-under 63s.

Stephanie Meadow was among the late starters in Arkansas and was two under after 15 holes.

Starting on the back nine, the Jordanstown native posted four birdies on the front nine with a solitary bogey coming on the 13th, Meadow's fourth. Another shot would go on the back nine as Meadow bogeyed the par four fourth hole.
