Lauren Walsh produced a stunning finish to finish in a tie for second while Sara Byrne was just a shot behind her as England's Alice Hewson successfully defended the Swiss Ladies Open.
Hewson had lifted the crown at Golfpark Holzhausern last year, and she signed off the 54-hole tournament in style with a trio of birdies giving her a five-shot winning margin as she finished on 13-under.
Walsh, who turned 24 on Thursday, looked set for a frustrating day’s work as she played her first 15 holes in two-over par. However, she birdied the 16th and eagled the 17th to move to eight-under and in a tie for second alongside home favourite Chiara Tamburlini and Sweden’s Kajsa Arwefjall - the latter’s 65 the low round of the day.
Until Walsh’s stirring finish, Byrne looked like she would be the top Irish finisher after an impressive day’s work that left her on seven-under par.
The Cork golfer had five birdies on her card with her only blemish coming on the 14th as she secured a tie for fifth alongside England’s Amy Taylor.
Annabel Wilson was unable to make any real ground on Saturday as she shot a level-par 71 to stay at two-under par.
Irish pair Canice Screene and Olivia Mehaffey failed to make the cut.
