England's Charley Hull finished second at the Aramco Houston Championship for a second-straight year after being eclipsed by Spain’s Nuria Iturrioz in Texas.

Hull, who won this event in 2021 and was also second last year, carded a score of five-under 67 on Sunday to close the 54-hole tournament tied with Carlota Ciganda on 11 under.

The pair were two strokes shy of Ciganda’s compatriot Iturrioz, after the 29-year-old roared to the title with a final-round 68.

It looked to be a nervy finish ahead when Iturrioz bogeyed the par-five 13th hole, but she held her nerve and picked up three birdies down the stretch to claim the fifth Ladies European Tour title of her career.

Lauren Walsh finished with a 71 to move to two under and a T43rd position.

Hull said she was proud of how she played – especially considering it marked her return to the course after sustaining ankle ligament damage ahead of the PIF London Championship in early August.

She said: "I played A1 golf all day.

"I played really well, and I hit some nice shots coming in. I made a good par on the last, I was trying to go for the putt, but it didn’t break.

"Especially with my injury and coming back, I didn’t think I’d play well this week, so I’m happy with my result. It’s not enough today, but I’m looking forward to Cincinnati next week."

Sara Byrne and Annabel Wilson failed to make the cut.
