Leona Maguire carded a one-under 72 that currently leaves her five shots off the pace as round one of the KPMG Women's Irish Open continues at Carton House, with amateur Emma Fleming leading the home challenge.
Maguire made birdie at the first and went on to pick up shots at 11 and 18, but sandwiched in between were bogeys on 15 and 16.
Fleming, recently crowned Victorian Amateur champion in Australia, carded a 69 to lie on four under, two strokes adrift of the leading duo of Blanca Fernandez and Chiara Tamburlini.
They sit one shot clear of a sextet of players on five under, which includes Solheim Cup star Madelene Sagstroem and three-time tour winner Mimi Rhodes.
Elm Park amateur Fleming recorded five birdies with just one dropped stroke on Thursday to sit in the cluster in a tie for ninth.

England's Charley Hull, meanwhile, is well placed on three under after a 70.
Next best among the 16-strong Irish contingent are Aine Donegan and Anna Foster, who both carded rounds of 71.
Maguire is one shot further back on one under, with Irish Amateur Close champion Canice Screene on one under.
Anna Abom and Annabel Wilson shot rounds of 74, while Lauren Walsh, Roisín Scanlon and Sara Byrne among the grouping on two over.
Beth Coulter, Marina Moreno and Olivia Costello are three over, while Olivia Mehaffey and Rebekah Gardner are on four over and five over respectively.
