Anna Foster saw an extremely promising round spoiled somewhat by a double bogey on her penultimate hole at the Amundi German Masters as Shannon Tan hit form to eke out a three-shot lead after the third round.
With her day's work drawing to a close, the Dubliner sat on four-under-par, inside the top 10 and within striking range of the leaders.
However, two dropped shots on the par-three 13th saw her eventually finish level for the day and two under for the tournament.
That leaves her 10 shots behind Tan, who has improved every day – 70, 69. 68 – to take control of the tournament.
England’s Hannah Screen is her nearest challenger on nine under, with her move up the leaderboard pushed by four birdies in four holes around the turn.
Germany’s Helen Briem is a shot further back in third.
Lauren Walsh had hoped to get back into contention but quickly went the other way after a horror start that saw her bogey four of her first six holes.
Walsh actually played her final 12 holes in one under, including nine straight pars on the back nine, to sit on one over heading into Sunday’s final day’s play.
