Scotland's Ewen Ferguson holds a three-shot advantage at the halfway stage of the Soudal Open, with Ireland's Conor Purcell amongst the field for the weekend after carding a 69 in Friday's second round.
Purcell started on the back nine and made birdie on 11 before a dropped shot on the next hole. However, he went on to make birdies at the par-five 17th and the par-3 second. It was steady as you go thereafter as he finished on the three-over mark.
That leaves him eight shots adrift of Ferguson, whose second-round 64 that included seven birdies, has him at 11 under.
Alone in second on eight-under par is England's Marco Penge after a successive 68. A shot further back are six players. amongst them the joint-overnight leader Joost Luiten.
