Séamus Power endured a tricky opening round at the Charles Schwab Challenge where a three-over par 73 sees the Waterford man 10 shots off the lead.
Power, who missed the cut at last week's US PGA Championship, three-putted on his first hole (10th) and struggled to find any early momentum in Fort Worth, Texas, dropping further shots at the 13th, 17th and 18th.
A birdie at the par-three 16th, where he landed his tee shot within 13 feet of the flag, was a boost, while the highlight of the round undoubtedly came at his next par-three hole (4th).
Power pulled the tee shot left of the green before executing wonderful chip from almost 90 metres to perfection to move to two-over.
That however was given back at the 8th, Power’s penultimate hole, when the 38-year-old found a greenside bunker on his way to a bogey.

The three-time major winner made an early statement with an eagle on the first hole, adding a pair of birdies on his way to a two-under par 68.
Pak is the man to catch with a seven-under par 63 that included an eagle at his first hole (10th) and five birdies in a blemish-free round.
