Cristobal Del Solar of Chile sits alongside Canada's Mackenzie Hughes at the top of the leaderboard of the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic following Friday's second round in South Carolina.

Seamus Power played his way into contention in Thursday's opening round, however, he undid all his good work on Friday, posting a five-over 76.

It proved a 12-shot swing for the Waterford man, who found himself in second place after an opening 64 on Thursday, and Power squeezed through to the weekend despite dropping a whooping 56 places on the leaderboard.

Starting on the back nine, Power found himself three over after five, and gave away another shot on his eighth hole. Two further bogeys followed on his back nine, with the solitary birdie coming on the 18th hole, his ninth.

Hughes was the first-round leader thanks to a 63 and followed that with a 69 to move to 10-under-par. Del Solar posted a 67 to join him there, one shot ahead of Harry Higgs, Davis Shore, Nick Watney, Danny Walker and Will Chandler.

"When we started out, our first nine holes certainly and some of the back nine holes as well. I mean, (the wind) was blowing pretty good out there. I thought it was playing quite tricky," said Hughes.

"It just wasn't the same day. I didn't feel like I was swinging the same way I did yesterday. I felt like I was not quite on. Still a nice job of managing my game, staying patient."
