The Scottish Championship has been added to the DP World Tour's 2025 global schedule, taking place at Trump International Golf Links Scotland in Aberdeenshire from 7-10 August.
It will be the first time the Tour has visited the venue, which was designed by Martin Hawtree and opened in 2012.
"It promises to be an excellent venue for the return of the Scottish Championship to our schedule," said Guy Kinnings, CEO of the DP World Tour.
The Scottish Championship was last played in October 2020 when Adrian Otaegui finished four shots clear of Matt Wallace at Fairmont St Andrews.
US President Donald Trump, also owns Turnberry and has reportedly spoken to British prime minister Keir Starmer about the Open Championship returning to the Ayrshire venue, which last hosted it in 2009.
Speaking last month, chief executive Mark Darbon reiterated the R&A’s stance that the focus of any Open must be solely on the golf and also voiced concerns around the infrastructure around the Ayrshire course.
"The golf course is magnificent," Darbon said. "If anything, it’s better now than it ever has been, given some of the improvements that have been made to the course.
"But there are some challenges around the road and rail network, some of the accommodation provision in the surrounding area, and so we’re working on what a model could look like for the future."
