Seamus Power sits on nine-under par and is among a large group chasing down leader Joel Dahmen at the halfway stage of the Corales Puntacana Championship in the Dominican Republic.
The Waterford native added a four-under-par 68 to his opening round 67 at the Caribbean event on what is a double weekend of PGA Tour action, with the signature event RBC Heritage also taking place at Hilton Head Island.
Power sits in a share of 11th place among a group of 15 chasing down leader Dahmen who sits on 16-under-par at the half-way stage.
The Ireland Olympian sits three off a trio of golfers sharing second place on 12 under, and is just two off fifth place heading into the weekend.
A run of four birdies in five holes, with a bogey at the par-four fifth in there too, had the Waterford man out in 33 and he picked up another shot coming in with a birdie on the 15th.
Dahmen shot another sterling round to extend his lead to four shots.
Dahmen's six-under-par 66 set a 36-hole tournament record one day after his 62 broke the course record,
Five of his six birdies on Friday came on the front nine and he has 16 birdies at the midway point.
Dahmen's only win on the PGA Tour came at this event in 2021, with a winning score of just 12 under.
A fan favourite from his social media activity and his appearances on the Netflix series 'Full Swing,' Dahmen has dropped to No. 176 in the world rankings and is working to get his game back on track.
"Yeah, it's just fun, I've never been in this position before," Dahmen said. "Maybe back in my amateur days or something like that. But I feel like I did a good job of not protecting. I didn't see a scoreboard honestly until (the) 18th green."
