Down golfer Beth Coulter missed the cut at the Augusta National Women's Amateur after a disappointing second-round 77 on Thursday.
Coulter had opened with a tidy 72 at the famed venue to open up the possibility of making the weekend, and a chance to play on the Augusta National course, but she eventually ended six shots outside the cut-line.
The Ballygalget golfer started with a bogey but got that shot back at the third – but her front nine would include a nasty double bogey at the fourth, three more bogeys and two birdies.
Coulter’s back nine saw a pair of bogeys sandwiched either side of a birdie at the 16th to leave her finishing on five-over par.
England’s Lottie Woad, the defending champion, claimed a share of the lead heading into the final round.
Woad followed up her first-round 65 with a two-under-par round of 70 on Thursday to sit alongside American Kiara Romero on nine under in Georgia.
The pair led by one from a group of three players on eight under.
Woad, the world number one amateur, carded three birdies and was three strokes in front at one point but a bogey at the par-three eighth – her 17th – saw her drop back.
The action took place at Champions Retreat Golf Club with the third and final round being held at Augusta National on Saturday.
