Spain's Eugenio Chacarra will take a one-shot lead into the final round of the Hero Indian Open as he aims to win his first DP World Tour title on Sunday.
Chacarra had shared the lead with Keita Nakajima at the halfway stage but made two bogeys and no birdies on the front nine on another tough day at DLF Golf and Country Club to sit two shots back at the turn.
His patience finally paid off as he got his first birdie from 12 feet on the 15th and despite creating further chances, he parred his way home to end the day on three-under par, one stroke clear of Brandon Stone and defending champion Nakajima, who made two late bogeys in his 74.
Chacarra said: "It was windy. It was probably the most windy day we had out there so I knew I needed to have a lot of patience today.
"I think I played great. My ball-striking was incredible like it’s been all week, so that was nice.
"I’m very pleased with this score, I think it was playing tough. This course, we know what it is, one bad swing and you can get a big number.
"So I’m pleased with it but it’s time to reset, talk to my team and see what we can do better for tomorrow."
England’s Matthew Jordan sits in a tie for fourth on one under after finishing his 73 with a birdie.
Conor Purcell, Ireland's only representative at the event, didn't make the cut.
