Tom McKibbin is four shots adrift of leaders Marcus Armitage and Matthew Jordan after the first round of the Porsche Singapore Classic, which has been reduced to 54 holes due to bad weather.
McKibbin, who is making his first DP World Tour appearance since joining LIV Golf, carded a 69 at the Laguna National Golf Resort Club to lie on three under.
The Co Down native started his round with three consecutive birdies and picked up a couple more at 10 and 11.
His first dropped shot came at 12, but he responded with a birdie at the next. That, however, was not the spark for McKibbin to push on, as a six on the par-five 14th and another bogey on 16, followed.
Conor Purcell also birdied the first three holes but bogeys at eight and nine and a double-bogey six at the par-four 12th put him on the back foot. He did pick a shot up on 14 but gave it back on the next hole, eventually signing for a 73 that sees him at one-over par.
Armitage, who finished second in the Ras Al Khaimah Championship at the end of January but had missed the cut in his last three starts, carded an eagle and six birdies in his 65, for a seven-under total, which was matched later in the day by compatriot Jordan.
The latter held the outright lead after making nine birdies in the space of 11 holes from the fourth, but dropped his second shot of the day on the 17th after hitting his tee shot into the water.
Haotong Li, Jordan Smith, Manuel Elvira, Callum Shinkwin and Adrien Saddier all share third place on six under par.
