Stephan Jaeger chipped in on successive holes as he took a one-shot lead in a truncated second day at the Black Desert Championship.
Failing light brought play to an early end in Utah for a second successive day with Jaeger on top of a congested leaderboard following five birdies in his last seven holes.
Chip-ins on the 15th and 16th helped the German to a round of 63 and 14-under-par, one ahead of Canada's Adam Svensson – the overnight leader after an opening 60 – and American Ben Kohles.
Seamus Power is set to be comfortably inside the cut-line when round 2 does finish following a superb second-round 64.
The Waterford man has started Friday on one-over par, but five birdies and an eagle moved him to six-under par.
That eagle came on the short par-four 14th after his tee shot found the green, and he nearly picked up another two shots on the 15th after coming so close to a hole in one, the ball just trickling right when seeming destined to find the cup.

US golfer Matt McCarty – playing just his second-ever PGA Tour event – was among those still out on the course.
He was a further shot back on his 16th hole when play was suspended.
Joining McCarty on 12-under-par was Sweden’s Henrik Norlander – who needs a good finish to secure his tour card for next season – and American duo Harris English and Sam Ryder.
Seventeen players were within five shots of the lead when play ended for the day.
Among those returning to finish their rounds on Saturday morning is American golfer Wesley Bryan, who faces a 15-foot eagle putt on his final hole.
He is also two shots outside the current cut mark.
