Rory McIlroy sits four shots off the lead after an opening round 70 to sit on two-under par at the BMW Championship in Denver.
The four-time major winner is tied for 10th in a 50-strong field at Castle Pines Golf Club where Keegan Bradley, who scraped into the last available spot for the tournament, leads the way on six-under par after a flawless opening round.
Shane Lowry is three-over after toiling to a 75.
Bradley will begin his second round with a one-shot lead over Hideki Matsuyama and opened his round on Thursday with two straight birdies.
He added a third on the par-five eighth hole and picked up two more down the stretch without dropping a shot to head into the second round with a narrow lead on six under.
Bradley, who was recently named a surprise choice to lead America's 2025 Ryder Cup team, said following his round: "I want to be out there with the guys and the Ryder Cup team.
"I want to be playing with them, on the range with them, in the locker room, in the tournament.
"It was really important for me to be in this top 50."
He leads by one from Matsuyama, who won last week's FedEx St Jude Championship.
