The Cognizant Classic at Palm Beach Gardens will finish on Monday, with Shane Lowry returning to the course three shots adrift after five holes of his final round.
The fourth round in Florida was delayed by three and a half hours due to a thunderstorms in the area.
Lowry, tied for the lead on 13-under par alongside Austin Eckroat and David Skinns, was due to tee off in the final pairing at 1.40pm local time (6.40pm). However, he didn't get out until 5.10pm (10.10pm Irish time).
When he did finally begin in his round in the fading light, Lowry got off to a sluggish start, slipping back to 12-under after missing the green at the par-3 fifth and making bogey.
The horn sounded after Lowry's drive at the subsequent hole and the 2019 Open champion will return three strokes behind the leader, Eckroat.
In contrast to Lowry, the American made the most of his brief stint on course, birdieing 4 and 5 to climb to 15-under thru seven on Sunday.

Earlier on Sunday, South Africa's Erik Van Rooyen had emerged from the pack, carding a stunning final round 63 to post the clubhouse lead at 14-under, one clear of the overnight leaders.
Jake Knapp and Billy Horschel were other players to make a bolt from the chasing pack, the former taking sole possession of third spot on 13-under thru 15 holes.
Horschel, meanwhile, joins Lowry on 12-under, albeit with only one hole remaining in his tournament tomorrow.
Alex Noren (-4 thru 12) and Keith Mitchell (in the clubhouse following a 65), are also part of the quartet on 12-under par.
David Skinns, parterning Lowry and the other member of the leading trio on Saturday, made a wobbly start on Sunday evening with bogeys on 1 and 3 to sit on 11-under.
Rory McIlroy, whose disastrous finish on Saturday ruined his chances, was determined to finish on Sunday, persisting on 18 in very poor light.
The four-time major winner finished with a bogey-free 68, birdieing three holes around the turn to finish on 10-under par, which currently leaves him tied-16th.
The final round is set to re-commence on Monday at 1pm Irish time.
