Rory McIlroy and Seamus Power carded rounds of 69 and 67 respectively and are both four-under-par ahead of the final round of The Genesis Invitational, with Patrick Cantlay continuing to lead the way on 14-under.

McIlroy began the day with consecutive birdies but that wasn't a sign of things to come, with the Holywood player dropping a shot at eight. The back nine saw two more shots dropped but birdies coming on 11, 13 and 17.

An eagle at the 10th was the highlight of Power's day, with birdies to follow on 11 and 12. However, he will be disappointed with bogeys at 15 and 16.

The Irish duo are currently tied 27th, 10 shots adrift of Cantlay.

Cantlay hit a one-under par 70, his worst round of the week, but remains two clear of fellow Americans Xander Schauffle and Will Zalatoris, who share second on 12-under-par.

"I played solid golf, I didn't make any long putts or anything," Cantlay said.

"I didn't really give myself too many chances, but all in all a solid day and in a good position for tomorrow."
