Lauren Walsh slipped down the standings at the Magical Kenya Ladies Open as a third round 75 means that she will start nine shots behind leaders Alessandra Fanali and Shannon Tan on Sunday.
The decorated amateur, who only made her LPGA Tour debut last July, made a promising start on Thursday with a 69, but successive 75s means she sits on level par.
That is one shot ahead of Olivia Mehaffey, who blotted her scorecard with double-bogeys at 13 and 17.
She closed out her round with a birdie for a 73 and will head into the final round on one-over par.
Fanali and Tan are the players to catch after both carded 67s.
The duo both sat in a share of third place at the halfway stage of the tournament and posted rounds of six-under par to build a five-shot lead over third place Samantha Bruce at Vipingo Ridge.
"It was a great day," said Fanali. "This golf course is very tough and with this wind, it's not easy to handle it but today was fun. I had great shots, some good putts and a chip-in as well. It was everything you could have asked for."
Tan, who is the first player from Singapore to secure a full LET card, only had one dropped shot on her scorecard in Kenya.
The 19-year-old made birdies on two and four before dropping a shot on five, but she then rolled in further birdies on holes six, eight, 10, 11 and 13 to also be at the summit of the leaderboard on nine-under-par.
"I stuck to the game-plan today, apart from hole five where I made a bogey which could have been avoided," she said.
