Jason Day and Lydia Ko have taken victory at the Grant Thornton Invitational in Flordia, as Leona Maguire and Lucas Glover's challenge fizzled out in the third and final round at Tiburon Golf Club.
Ko and Day, from New Zealand and Australia respectively, posted their second straight round of six-under 66, finishing on -26 overall to win by a stroke from Canadian pair Brooke Henderson and Corey Conners.
Maguire and Glover, tied second overnight, fell to joint-sixth overall after an underwhelming 68, the highest total on Sunday.
The tournament, on its inaugural run, featured 16 mixed teams. Round 1 on Friday was played on a scramble format, while they switched to foursomes (alternate shot) on Saturday. Sunday's final round was a modified fourball, in which both teammates teed off but switched balls for the remainder of the hole.
Ko and Day held a two-stroke lead heading into Sunday, sealing the victory with a blemish free third round, despite the efforts of Conners and Henderson and the Swedish duo of Madelene Sagstrom and Ludvig Aberg.
"It felt like the most stress-free win because I just knew (Ko) was going to step up in the end, which was fantastic," Day said. "It was a fun week. I think having the two tours join this week was a fun way to finish the year out."
"I learned a lot, whether it was short-sided chips or just how to commit andhit bombs down there," Ko said of playing with the men.

"I think this has just been a great start for the two tours coming together and having a mixed event, and I really hope this is something that continues for a long time."
Conners and Henderson posted a colourful card, opening with an eagle and a biride, before a double-bogey on the third. Conners holed out for eagle on the ninth and they went on a birdie blitz to card 63, finishing one stroke short.
Sagstrom and Aberg were third at 24-under after firing a final-round 60, with 10 birdies and a late eagle.
