Akie Iwai leads the Toto Japan Classic by one stroke after firing a round of 63 in Ibaraki.
Iwai hit eight birdies, as well as an eagle on the 10th, to finish on nine under-par with her only dropped shot of the day coming on the par-4 fifth.
It leaves her one stroke clear of group of three players in the chasing pack.
Stephanie Meadow is the only Irish player involved.
She finished on two under par after a round of 70.
The Antrim woman hit three birdies and a bogey to end the day in a tie for 46th.
