Olivia Mehaffey missed the cut at the Hero Women's Indian Open where Germany's Aline Krauter is the halfway leader after a second round 68.
Only 16 players finished under par after the first round, but the scoring improved on Friday.
Mehaffey, who struggled to a round of 82 yesterday, fared much better with a one-over par 72. The 26-year-old avoided double and triple bogeys that marked the first round card.
She had too much of a mountain to climb however and finished on 11-over par, five shots outside the cut.
Krauter’s 68, one shot better than Thursday, moved her to the top of the standings on seven-under par, one shot clear of India’sVani Kapoor after she shot a round of 70.
Dkisha Dagar and Sweden’s Sara Kjellker share third a further shot adrift.
