Shane Lowry has made the cut at the Wyndham Championship after a second-round 69.
The Offaly man is three under, just outside the top 40 and two shots inside the projected cut mark in North Carolina.
Russell Henley leads the way on 12 under with fellow American Billy Horschel one shot further back.
Canada's Adam Svensson, South Korea's Byeong Hun An and US duo Lucas Glover and Brendon Todd are tied for third on 10 under.
Lowry started well with a birdie on four, which he later followed up with further gains on seven and eight.
But the Sedgefield Country Club's back nine proved much more challenging for the 2019 Open winner.
Bogeys on 11 and 14 pushed him back down the leaderboard but he bounced back immediately with a birdie on 15.
However, that progress was immediately dented by a double bogey on the par-3 16th. But he ensured an under-par round with a birdie on the 18th.
Lowry is aiming to qualify for the Fed Ex play-offs for a fifth straight season and, while currently ranked 76th in the standings, he needs to climb inside the top 70 after the field for next week's first play-off event was reduced from 125.
Henley carded a four-under 66 that included birdies on three of his five last holes. Horschel added a 62 to his opening 67 in a round that saw him eagle the eight and shoot seven birdies.
Brendon Todd (63), Lucas Glover (64), Adam Svensson of Canada (67) and ByeongHun An of South Korea (67) are tied for third at 10 under. Swedish up-and-comer Ludvig Aberg is in seventh place at 8 under after shooting his second consecutive 66.
